My ex-ARN flight to Vietnam as part of my FlashPack holiday obviously meant I’d by passing back through Stockholm on my return home. I hadn’t visited the city since my childhood, so it seemed like a good idea to extend my vacation by a few days and rediscover Sweden’s capital.
Stockholm is now largely cashless. This is great in some ways as you don’t need to get currency. Watch out if your bank card charges a minimum fee per transaction though. It may be cheaper to pay once in a bar on a tab rather than after each drink.
I’d had some concerns that Stockholm was still going to be very cold in March, however it turned out to be in the mid-teens (C) with bright sunshine. Perfect conditions to be outside, Stockholm being the kind of place you can largely explore on foot.
While in Stockholm I arranged a running tour with RUNWITHME – Stockholm. We covered some of the same sights I’d wandered past the day before, but this time with the benefit of a local giving me some history as we cut across the bridges between the islands. If you’re a runner, I’d recommend as a great way to see the sights and I’m certainly going to look out for other RUNWITHME locations on future travels.
