A couple of projects on the Gulf Coast of Texas sprung to life at the same time, so with a little flexibility we arranged the trips back to back to give me nearly 3 weeks of meetings. I’d start off in The Woodlands area just North of Texas then head down to Clear Lake for the final week.
The Woodlands proved a good place for car spotting. I also hooked up with a local running club which provided some much needed motivation to get my trainers on as it was 32c and horribly humid. They also introduced me to the wonders of the “Whole Foods” supermarket which has an excellent pub in the middle of it. A great location to cool down and have a chat after an afternoon run.
Clear Lake isn’t quite as nice, perhaps past its prime from the days of the space race, but it did give some stunning sunrises and a change of scenery for a few days.
